Thai Signs for Parents

During the first study term, Sotpattana School for the Deaf organized a workshop on Thai sign language for parents and caregivers of children in our school. The focused topics were Places, Persons, Emotions, Animals, and Fruits. In addition, participants were introduced to ideas and methods of producing teaching/learning aids for use with the kids. They had fun and got to know each other, strengthening their meaningful network.

Celebrating Mother’s Day

Children at Sotpattana School for the Deaf studied the whole week on “Mother’s Day” and wrapped up with the honoring of Queen Sitikit’s 85th birthday anniversary. Rev. Fr. Michael Weera Phangrak presided over the ceremony, followed by the presentation of awards to the winners and the 1st runner-ups of the coloring contest on the Mother’s Day theme, i.e. Posh and Kevin from Level 1; Pangpond and Khao-Fang from Room 1 of Level 2; Garfield and Am from Room 2 of Level 2; and Phai and Foam from Level 3. Most of the children’s mothers were present and each of them accepting prostration as well as hand-made gift from her child.

..Mr. David Keats, for representing his friends, including Mr. Geoff Hart, in bringing pre-school kids of Sotpattana School for the Deaf to visit the Million Years Stone Park and Pattaya Crocodile Farm this morning.. Accompanied by their teachers, the children had a wonderful exposure to a beautiful place with exciting shows, interesting animals, and great views.. Grateful thanks to all concerned..
