Story Telling & Drama

During the first Story Telling & Drama Activity of the academic year 2016-2017 organised by Sotpattana School for the Deaf at the front yard of the Pattaya Orphanage’s dining hall, students acted out four Aesop’s Fables: The Farmer and the Snake; The Lion and the Mouse; The Hare and the Tortoise; and The Shepherd Boy and the Wolf, with creativity, expressiveness, and skillful signing. Science Day

For the 14th week of the academic year, Sotpattana School for the Deaf covered the unit on “Science Day” so the teachers wrapped up the week with a special activity.  Students in level groups took part in five stations and had experiments on friction, shadows, lava, volcanic eruption, and magnetic force.. National Mother’s Day 2016

Each year, on the royal birthday anniversary of H.M. the Queen, Thai people celebrate the Mother’s Day. At Sotpattana School for the Deaf, our students presented the hand-made greeting cards and paper jasmine flowers to their mothers or their representatives in a simple but moving ceremony. Sign Language Training for Parents

Sotpattana School for the Deaf organised the workshop on sign language for the first study term 2016 to support parents of our students in communicating with their charges. At least one parent from each of the 42 families attended the training.. The participants have become more skillful and confident in signing words in daily life. Ice-breaking and fun-filled activities also helped unite and strengthen them..

I-Love-Reading 1/2559

For the first term of academic year 2016-2017, pupils of Sotpattana School for the Deaf reviewed the vocabulary they have learned to sign in the past three months through the special activity called “I-Love-Reading..” Five homeroom teachers and their teams helped the students to remember the same set of words for use in daily life.. Those in levels 2 and 3 not only recognised how they are written but also how they are spelled with signs..
